Common questions

How long does the JAKIM halal certification process take?

Typically 3–6 months from application submission to certificate, depending on JAKIM's current processing queue and how complete your application is. A well-prepared application moves faster. Rejections and resubmissions can extend this significantly β€” which is why preparation matters.

Is halal certification mandatory for my business?

Not currently mandatory for all businesses β€” but it is effectively required if you want to supply to hotels, airlines, hospitals, government bodies, or export to OIC markets. And if you serve Muslim customers, having the cert builds trust that's hard to replicate any other way.

What are the most common reasons JAKIM rejects applications?

The top reasons are: incomplete documentation (especially ingredient certificates from suppliers), premises that don't meet JAKIM's hygiene and separation requirements, non-halal ingredients in supply chains that weren't declared, and portal submission errors. We help you avoid all of these.

My business is already certified β€” do you help with renewals?

Yes. JAKIM halal certificates expire annually. We can manage your renewal timeline, update any changed ingredients or suppliers, and resubmit your application so there's no lapse in your certification.
